The
Alumni and Community Relations
Office (ACRO) was established last March 1,
2002. This office is tasked to take care of all matters concerning
the VSU alumni and support/promote VSU's programs. The office
will be composed of three major units that will take care of
some specific functions. These units will include the alumni
publication and communication unit, project generation and fund
raising unit and alumni and community outreach unit. The specific
functions of each unit are indicated below.
The VSU alumni as proacticve, committed, socially responsible,
environmentally concerned and globally competitive individuals
who radiate the university's ideals of excellence.
To
empower the VSU alumni in pursuing relevant endeavors that
will have impact in community development.

Constitution and By-laws
1. Alumni
Publication and Communication Unit
This unit will take care of the publication of Alumni Newsletter,
Magazine and Directory; create an alumni web site; take care
of alumni membership concerns (such as assigning alumni-contact
person in key areas which have large population of VSU alumni
and assigning of alumni membership numbers and ID).
2. Project
Generation and Fund Raising Unit
This unit will take care of alumni scholarship funds (Individual
Scholarship, Corporate Scholarship, Group Scholarship) for
VSU students; Faculty Endowment Fund for Professorial Chairs;
and Alumni Business such as the Alumni Hostel, Alumni Canteen
and Catering Services, and Alumni Souvenir Shop which will
be put up in the canteen.
This unit will also try to source out donations for the establishment
of an Alumni Center within the university by tapping alumni
politicians (especially those who were given honoris
causa by the university) and other philanthropic
organizations.
3. Alumni
Community Outreach Unit
This unit will plan out different Alumni Activities such as
Homecoming; Reunions; Specific Cause Oriented activities involving
the skills and expertise of our alumni like Basketball or
any Sports Clinic, Seminars on Business Entrepreneurship and
others; Mobilizing Alumni in Job Placements of VSU Graduates;
Give Recognition to Outstanding Alumni; Putting up of Specific
projects/landmarks in the university and neighboring communities
and others.

Alumni
Directory
The current addresses of more than 3,000 alumni are updated
annually and have published the first VSU Alumni Directory
last July 2002. A revised edition of the directory costs P200.00
within the Philippines including mailing cost. A separate
charging will apply for orders from abroad.
