Homecoming 2008! (Alumni comes home to VSU in the summer of 2008). There is no place like VSU as more than 300 Alumni participated in the VSU Alumni Homecoming held last May 16-17, 2008. With the theme "Strengthening the Alumni through Greater Batch Participation", this summer's homecoming was steered by the sponsoring batches under the leadership of Dr. Felix J. Amestoso, coordinator for ViSCA Freshmen Batch '78 and Dr. Pedro T. Armenia, coordinator for ViSCA Freshmen Batch '74.

JL Bacusmo is VSU's new prexy. Dr. Jose L. Bacusmo was chosen among four candidates for the position as the 5th president of the Visayas State University effective November 1, 2007. He succeeded Dr. Paciencia P. Milan whose second term as VSU president ended on September 30, 2007. His three other predecessors are Dr. Fernando A. Bernardo (1974-1985), Dr. Marianito R. Villanueva (1986-1993),  and Dr. Samuel S. Go (1993-1999).

 

2007 VSU General Alumni Homecoming held this summer. The clamor of many VSU alumni to hold the grand alumni homecoming during summer was realized this year. The first-ever summer alumni homecoming was held on May 18-19, 2007 which turned out to be very successful. Despite the short preparation time for ViSCA Freshmen (VF) 1973 and VF 1977, the host group, the gathering yielded more than 400 VSU alumni from different parts of the country and abroad.
