Ready your audition piece as VSU brings you one of this year’s anniversary highlights, the “Voice of VSU 2016”. Patterned after ABS-CBN’s “The Voice of the Philippines”, the singing contest will showcase talents from the different Colleges (including VLHS & branches) in the VSU System. The Colleges shall select 2 to 3 contenders who must proceed to the Blind Audition.

(Colleges are encouraged to conduct their auditions and must submit their entries on or before August 3, 2016 (Wednesday) in the morning at the Office of the Vice President for Instruction ℅ Ms. Connel Antipaso. Submission of the entries beyond the deadline will no longer accepted.)

a. Blind Audition (August 3, 2016 at 7:00PM | VSU Gymnatorium)

During the Blind Audition, from among the contestants recommended by the different colleges/high school, only fifteen (15) finalists will be determined. The panel of judges (composed of 3 individuals who will serve as coaches of the respective finalists) will not be facing the singer, only until such time that he is convinced to serve as coach of the singer for the Grand Finals. Each coach is only entitled to 5 finalists. Once he reaches the maximum number of finalists to be coached, he can no longer accept any other finalist. However, in the case there are still remaining semi-finalists who have not performed yet, the 3 judges may opt to add more finalist/s who will be distributed equally among the coaches even if they already have the maximum number of finalists.

b. Grand Finals (August 5, 2016 at 8:00PM | VSU Gymnatorium)

The final round shall determine the Top 3 Winners during the Grand Finals Night.

Contest Guidelines:

1. The contest is open to all bona fide students (high school and college) of the VSU System.

2. Each colleges must submit their entries (2-3 contestants) on or before August 3, 2016 (Wednesday) in the morning. They may also opt to have back-up dancers to their contestants.

3. In the Blind Audition, all the contestants will be rendering a song of their choice within the allotted time of two (2) minutes. The coaches, who serve as judges during the Blind Audition, will not facing the contestants, only until such time that he is convinced and willing to coach the contestant for the Grand Finals Night. The qualified contestant shall choose from among the judges his/her final coach. The top 15 finalists or more shall be chosen to advance to the finals round. The Blind Audition shall be held at seven o’clock in the evening (7:00PM) on August 3, 2016 (Wednesday) at the VSU Gymnasium.

4. During the Grand Finals Night, each finalist shall prepare 2 songs (1 English & 1 Tagalog) of his/her choice. The English song shall be rendered during the first round of the competition, of which, only the top 5 grand finalists shall sing tagalog songs of their choice whose performance shall determine the top 3 winners. The Grand Finals is scheduled on August 5, 2016 at eight o’clock in the evening (8:00PM) at the VSU Gymnatorium.

6. The top three winners shall receive the following prizes:

First Prize - PHP 10,000.00 Cash + Trophy

Second Prize - PHP 7,000 Cash + Trophy

Third Prize - PHP 5,000 Cash + Trophy

Consolation Prize - PHP 1,000.00
