VSU just pulled off an impressive opening ceremony for the 37th State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Games this year by lighting up the Upper Oval using recycled plastic bottles during the field demonstration.

Dr. Edgardo Escuadra Tulin is a university professor, a multi-awarded scientist, one of the most accomplished research administrators in the Philippines, and a leader in science and technology management. He is more popularly known as the 6th President of the Visayas State University system who ushered in so many developments that catapulted the university as one of the best higher education institutions in the country today.

After being dubbed as "the biggest culture and arts festival in Eastern Visayas this year," the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC-8) Regional Culture and Arts Festival 2023 culminated after its four-day affair at the Visayas State University (VSU), from October 17 to 20.

After returning to the place where it all started, the 37th edition of the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA-8) Games held October 22-27 has finally concluded, with the Visayas State University (VSU) Pythons reclaiming the coveted overall championship title in the region’s biggest collegiate sporting event in front of its home crowd.

With the uproar of the coming 37th Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Games 2023, Visayas State University, the host institution recognizes two powerful women who in one way or another worked toward the preparations of this annual inter-collegiate sports event in Eastern Visayas.

After winning all major top awards of the first-ever Eastern Visayas Coding Olympics (EVCO), four teams from the Department of Computer Science and Technology (DCST) were hailed as the Best Performing Teams in the province of Leyte.

To deeply understand the agroecological restoration approach for sustainable land use and conservation, Professor Dr. Guiraldo C. Fernandez, Jr. took part in a field course offered by Yale University School of the Environment and the Environment Leadership and Training Initiatives (ELTI) in South America.
