The Department of Computer Science and Technology (DCST) was established in March 2002. It originated from the Computer Science and Statistics Section of the now defunct Dept. of Agricultural Engineering and Applied Mathematics (DAEAM). With the conversion of the Visayas State College of Agriculture (ViSCA) into the Visayas State University (VSU), the section was elevated into an academic department and is now one of the four departments under the College of Engineering and Agri-Industries (CEAI). It is mandated to provide knowledge and skills in computer science to students at LSU through its offering of an undergraduate program, a fundamental course and service courses in the aforementioned field. |
