| The
College is located in Barangay Binongto-an in the municipality
of Alangalang, which is 95 kilometers north of the LSU-Main
Campus. It was established on June 17, 1971 as the Alangalang
Agro-Industrial School (AAIS) by virtue of RA 3673. It started
offering Associate in Agricultural Technology (AAT) course in
1975 and the Bachelor of Agricultural Education (BSAgEd) two
years later. In 1990, the AAT was changed to Diploma in Agricultural
Technology (DAT), a ladder type curriculum preparatory to the
Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT). The school's name
was changed to Leyte State School of Agriculture in 1994. Its
curricular programs are undergoing revision. In the immediate
future, it envisions to offer Bachelor of Science in Environmental
Management (BSEM), Bachelor of Science in Environmental Technology
(BET), Bachelor of Secondary and Elementary Education (BSEE),
and Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology (BSAT). |
