The College is located in Barangay Binongto-an in the municipality of Alangalang, which is 95 kilometers north of the LSU-Main Campus. It was established on June 17, 1971 as the Alangalang Agro-Industrial School (AAIS) by virtue of RA 3673. It started offering Associate in Agricultural Technology (AAT) course in 1975 and the Bachelor of Agricultural Education (BSAgEd) two years later. In 1990, the AAT was changed to Diploma in Agricultural Technology (DAT), a ladder type curriculum preparatory to the Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT). The school's name was changed to Leyte State School of Agriculture in 1994. Its curricular programs are undergoing revision. In the immediate future, it envisions to offer Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management (BSEM), Bachelor of Science in Environmental Technology (BET), Bachelor of Secondary and Elementary Education (BSEE), and Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology (BSAT).
