College is located is located in Barangay Tanghas, a coastal
barangay of the Municipality of Tolosa, which is 102 kilometers
northeast of the LSU-Main Campus. It was founded in 1971 as
the Daniel Z. Romualdez Memorial School of Fisheries in honor
of the late Daniel Z. Romualdez, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The school offered a three-year post- secondary course in school
year 1973-1974 and was granted permission to offer a four-year
course leading to a degree of Bachelor of Science in Fisheries
in the second semester of SY 1974-1975. On August 24, 1998,
the Commission on Higher Education granted the school the authority
to offer Bachelor of Secondary education major in Fisheries
effective SY 1997-1998. Currently, the College offers Diploma
in Fishery Technology, Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, and
Bachelor of Secondary Education. It envisions to offer Bachelor
of Science in Fisheries with majors in Marine Fisheries, Inland
Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Fish Processing Technologies; and
Master of Science in Fisheries. |
