Dr. Julie D. Tan , Microbiologist and Professor of the Philippine Rootcrop Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops) attended the MSP conference on April 23-30, 2012 at Philrice, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija and presented three (3) poster papers. These were as follows:
- Screening of Different Types of Rootcrop Flour as Substrates for Dry Starter Preparation for Taro (Colocasia esculenta) Wine Production - Norma Cecille E. Bagarinao and Dr. Julie D. Tan,
- Isolation and Screening of Microorganisms from Different Starter Cultures for the Production of Natural Sweetener from Taro (Colocasia esculenta)- Mariero Hermosilla Gawat and Dr. Julie D. Tan
- Isolation and Screening of Microorganisms from Decaying Rootcrops for the Production of Natural Sweetener from Taro- Vernabelle Luego Balmori and Dr. Julie D. Tan
While attending the conference, she met Dr. Susana M. Mercado of BIOTECH, UPLB where she discussed the proposal entitled “Microbial Kinetics of Wine Starters” she submitted to DA-BIOTECH. |
