The National Coconut Research Center-Visayas (NCRC-V) based at the Visayas State University (VSU) is Visca, Baybay City was established in 1975 to spearhead the coconut research development in the Visayas region. It was mandated to generate and disseminate appropriate technologies that will augment the Visayas coconut farmers income and uplift their general well-being.

The Philippine Root Crop Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops) is a government research, development and training institution for root crops which include cassava, sweetpotato, taro yam, yambean, arrowroot and other root crops. Previously known as PRCRTC it was established on March 21, 1977 through Presidential Decree 1107 and is based at the Visayas State University (VSU), Visca, Baybay City, the zonal agricultural university for the Visayas.

National Abaca Research Center (NARC) located at the beautiful campus of the Visayas State University (VSU) formerly Visayas State College of Agriculture (ViSCA), 7 km North of City of Baybay and bounded by the majestic mountain of Pangasugan in the East and the beautiful Camotes sea in the West.

The Visayas Consortium for Agriculture and Resources Program (VICARP) is a consortium of agencies and Institutions undertaking research and development in agriculture and natural resources in Eastern Visayas. It serves as the regional arm of the National Agriculture Research and Development Network (NARDN) under the auspices of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD).

The Farm and Resource Management Institute (FARMI) is an “institutional innovation” designed to develop sustainable farming systems for different agro-ecosystems in the Visayas. It is taking the lead in research and promotion of eco-agriculture technologies. 

The Office of the Director of Research and Extension (ODREx) is the university's coordinating arm for Research and Extension (R & E). It coordinates the implementation of the different R&D commodity programs and extension activities of the following research centers: Philippine Root Crops Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops), National Abaca Research Center (NARC), National Coconut Research Center - Visayas (NCRC-V), Farm Resource and Management Institute (FARMI) and the academic departments.
