VSU's University Review Center was first established as an Eastern Visayas alternative review centers in Cebu and Manila. Now it has been designated as Visayas Center (ranking next to Luzon Center of UP Los Baños) for review on the first three of these professional licensure.

The reviews are conducted by pool of experts from VSU, cooperating agencies and practitioners chosen from their competence in their respective fields. so far, those who look their review at URC got Licensure Examination performances consistently higher than the National Passing percentage. Some of them made it to the top-ten of their respective Licensure Examination.

VSU-URC is just a stone's throw away from the beach, offering an ideal atmosphere suitable for quality study.

VSU-URC also sits beside the VSU Pavillion, a cafeteria offering inexpensive food. If you want to save some more, eateries at the Visca Market offer cheaper food rates. 

Affordable lodging can also be easily had. Near VSU-URC are reasonably priced lodging houses; the Learning Center Dormitory, and the VSU Hostel. And if your board exam review classes are scheduled during the summer term, you can avail of the on-campus student dormitories nearby. There are also rooming houses at the nearby barangays of Pangasugan, Guadalupe and Gabas.

Visayas State University, the Visayas's Center of Excellence for Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Forestry, is nestled between Leyte's Mt. Pangasugan and the Camotes Sea to the west. You can reach it by bus-2 hours from Tacloban City (where there is an airport) or 45 minutes from Ormoc City (where fastcrafts and ferries transport passengers to and from Cebu City). The trips is shorter if you take the mini-van. Leyte can also be reached by bus from Mindanao via the Liloan (Leyte)-Lipata (Surigao del Norte) ferry connection, and from Luzon via the Allen (Northern Samar)-Sorsogan (Bicol) connection.

The University Review Center is equipped with modest multimedia facilities and equipment to conduct review classes. Although it is a place where communing with nature comes easy, VSU also makes it easy for you to connect with other people. For those who like the retro feel, VSU has an authentic Morse code telegraph facility, while more up-to-date ones can avail of VSU's Internet connected Local Area Network. For your basic needs, VSU has a modest market. It supplies you want are not available from the VSU Market, you can take a multicab to the nearby city of Baybay (just 20 minutes away south of VSU). For your banking needs, there are MetroBank (with ATM service), Philippine National Bank and Allied Bank branches in Baybay City. More are available in Ormoc City to the north.
