VSU Alumna is Rappler Move Awards Nominee | Visayas State University

Atilano was recognized by the network for her work called AGREA (Agriculture + Gaea), a business devoted to help famers and fisherfolks in poverty alleviation, addressing climate change, and food security establishment in the country.

Cherrie graduated Magna Cum Laude with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) in 2007. Since her graduation at VSU, she has been advocating to make agriculture a more lucrative and interesting venture especially to the youth. In 2012, her pet project ‘Agricool’ helped empower farmers by teaching them with necessary farming skills and involving them in decision making as her business partners.

According to Rappler, the Move Awards is aimed at recognizing outstanding Filipinos who initiates change for the benefit of the others, thus, the name “Mover”.

Among the 15 nominees, one (1) winner for each of the five (5) categories will be announced during the awarding ceremony.
