Five local artists have put together 29 paintings that depict “The Colors of the West”, in Cebuano, BuloKasadpan, in an Art Exhbibit For-A-Cause at the Balay Alumni, VSU lower campus. Call it an art with a heart or what have you, but a part of the proceeds of this exhibit will fund a student’s education.
VSU kicked off the school year with a a night of entertainment, singing and dancing. But they said nothing welcomed the students better than when the VSU President himself, Dr. Edgardo Tulin, serenaded the crowd with his rendition of ‘Your Love’.
The night of August 4 was like a one-of-a-kind sugar rush: everyone was in a sweet high from dancing and paint-splashing game in one swift fantastic party. Thanks to the VSU supreme student council for a night of loosening up.
On its third year, the Voice of VSU continued to prove the world (thru FB Live) that the university is not only an academic powerhouse but also a home of vocal talents. This year's winner is a guy from the College of Management and Economics.
Of course, who could forget the performance of judge Ms. Mariel Minglanilla who left everyone with goosebumps?
Some 1,200 runners tackled a 3-km distance through the beautiful university campus to help raise funds for more student scholarships. This activity was initiated by the VSU Alumni Association, Inc.
If our students can do it, we can do it better, said VSU’s faculty and staff as they owned the stage and the night of a thrilling showdown.
This year, VSU held its first-ever Invitational Swim Meet which was participated in by 182 swimmers from Cebu, Leyte and Samar. Farmers from all over Eastern Visayas took a one-day break to visit VSU to exchange ideas with the agricultural researchers, meet other farmers and fisherfolks, to brag about their harvests or their farming skills, play games, earn prizes, and be recognized for their outstanding feats in farm entrepreneurship. Every anniversary celebration at VSU has a day for our food producers, and every year, we always have a blast.
This year's Outstanding Farmer-Entrepreneur is Socorro Serano-Codilla, 74, from Brgy. Concepcion, Ormoc City.
Farmers challenged each other to a farming skills tilt.
This farmer won a prize for having the largest rootcrop there was.
