VSU will host the State Universities and Colleges - Association of Colleges of Agriculture in the Philippines (SUC-ACAP) annual convention on May 22 to 24, 2019.

 The opening ceremony will be graced by CHED Chair Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III as keynote speaker. Five plenary sessions are also scheduled with key officials from different agricultural schools and organizations in the country and in the US and will also feature scientific paper presentations.

The three-day forum is anchored on the theme: “Developing a Competitive Human Resource and Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Internationalization of Agriculture.”

The conference aims to define a protocol for internationalization for sustainable agriculture in the context of human resources development and innovative technologies, discuss priority agenda which could enhance competitiveness in agriculture human resources, agri-products and agri-farm services, sustain sharing of innovative technologies that will make ACAP member institutions internationally competitive, and link innovations and match human resource to the development of agriculture industry, sustain capability building and re-skilling thru academe-industry partnership.

Delegates from agricultural schools and organizations in the country are expected to flock VSU for the convention.

SUC-ACAP is a nationwide organization of agricultural colleges and universities in the country. Currently, the organization is comprised of 69 member-institutions.
