Cebuana Lhuillier is now a remittance and payment partner of VSU

In a move to diversify payment options available to all Viscans, the Cash Division of the Visayas State University partners with another remittance and payment giant, Cebuana Lhullier, as part of the university’s effort to make financial transactions more convenient and efficient especially in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cebuana Lhullier is known around the country for offering one-stop-shop services for different kinds of transactions including pawning, remittance, microinsurance, micro savings, and business to business micro loan solutions.
With 2,500 branches nationwide, Cebuana Lhullier is one of the most accessible pawn shop chains in the Philippines. It is the second non-banking financial institution that partnered with VSU with Palawan Pawnshop opening a similar service in July this year.
But even then, Cebuana Lhullier is the only remittance and payment center that has a dedicated branch inside the VSU campus serving students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders of the VSU community for several years now.
While payments through electronic money and other mobile wallets are still on the pipeline, online payments can be temporarily made through Landbank’s LinkBiz portal.
Ms. Queen-ever Y. Atupan, the Head of the VSU Cash Division, revealed that the university is currently exploring ways to enable students and other clients to make payments through mobile wallets.
“Yes, we are still waiting for our depository bank to open this feature and I think this service will be available to all of us very soon. But for the meantime, we are grateful to Cebuana Lhullier for opening this service to our clients here in VSU Main Campus. We expect this same service will also be available to the component campuses in the next few days,” Ms. Atupan explained.
A minimum charge of Php25.00 per transaction will be collected to the clients who will avail of this service. One has to simply fill up the remittance and payment form of Cebuana Lhullier to complete this process. A sample slip is shown below for reference of interested clients.
