EVCO 2023

After winning all major top awards of the first-ever Eastern Visayas Coding Olympics (EVCO), four teams from the Department of Computer Science and Technology (DCST) were hailed as the Best Performing Teams in the province of Leyte.

This year’s pioneering coding olympics was organized by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Eastern Visayas on October 23, 2023.

EVCO is a programming competition composed of two categories, namely C and Java Programming Language to challenge students on their problem-solving skills, algorithmic proficiency, and programming skills.

The coding contest was competed between groups of undergraduate students from 20 member institutions of PSITE, such as VSU.

For the two categories of EVCO, VSU placed 1st and 2nd in both competitions, respectively, which marked a history for VSU DCST.
