Our very own student organization, the Viscan YouthMappers (VYM) received its second international awards from the 2024 Chapter Awards given by the renowned YouthMappers network and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) GeoCenter.

The House Committee on Higher and Technical Education approved House Bill 4292 which seeks to establish a satellite campus of the Visayas State University in Hilongos, Leyte on March 19, 2024, in a deliberation meeting held at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.

Two graduating soil science students have been selected as one of the five recipients of this year’s thesis grant from the Philippine Society of Soil Science and Technology, (PSSST) Inc.

Now on its third series, the VSU Department of Statistics in collaboration with the Data Science Institute of Universiteit Hasselt (UHasselt) in Belgium successfully ended the two-week International Training Program (ITP) workshop on co-creating environmental citizen science in the Philippines. 

VSU forestry students talked about how their teamwork dynamics and excellent training from the Department of Forest Science (DFS) and College of Forestry and Environmental Science (CFES) served as their competitive edge after being declared as third runner-up in the overall 14th National Forestry Olympiad (NFO) held at the University of Philippines Los Baños this year.

The newly sworn President of the Visayas State University system had a full day of introductory meetings, courtesy calls, gracing a strategic planning workshop for a regional consortium, and signing her first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in her first official workday as Chief Steward.
