Three #Proudviscans receive scholarships from leading poultry and food producer

Carmelo S. Cimafranca II (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), Hazel Ann S. Coringao (BS in Food Technology), and Rea Mae Malazarte (BS Biology) will each receive a ₱5,000 monthly allowance covering school supplies, dorm fees, transportation, food, and uniforms, plus a brand-new laptop.
The support runs from August 2025 to May 2028, amounting to ₱50,000 annually, and includes financial assistance for their undergraduate thesis.
The scholarship also offers internship placements in different departments of the Bounty Fresh Group, tailored to each scholar’s course. Outstanding graduates may be given hiring priority, turning this academic grant into a possible career gateway.
The contract signing on August 1 at DYDC Studio brought together the scholars, their parents, and VSU officials led by Dr. Aleli Villocino, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, Dr. Christina Gabrillo, Director of Student Affairs and Services, Ms. Chona Brit, Director of the Guidance and Counseling Services Office, and Mr. Junito Panonce, Coordinator for Institutional Student Programs and Services.
In her message, Dr. Gabrillo urged the scholars to persevere and said to “keep going even if the going gets tough.”
The BCFI scholarship is open only to second-year students in Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering, Agriculture, Food Technology, Biology, and Chemistry, and to fourth-year Veterinary Medicine students.
Beyond education, the foundation runs programs that reach underserved communities, such as feeding initiatives through the BounTree of Hope, donations of organic fertilizers to promote sustainable farming, and environmental care projects like wastewater management, tree planting, and renewable energy promotion.
For Carmelo, Hazel Ann, and Rea Mae, the scholarship means relief from financial strain, a smoother academic journey, and a clearer path to their chosen careers.
