The regional leg of Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) conducted a one-day event, dubbed the Culture and Arts Festival, on October 27, 2017, Friday.

“The conduct of this Culture and the Arts Festival sets the stage towards a more meaningful appreciation of our own culture,” says Dr. Dominador O. Aguirre, President of PASUC-8 and Eastern Visayas State University. 

“Culture and the arts set the strong foundation of our nationhood. It lifts the spirit and provides soul to our society”, he added.

“VSU hopes that you will appreciate and enjoy all the activities in this festival and experience a glimpse of culture and the arts in the region” says Dr. Remberto A. Patindol, Vice-President for Administration and Finance as he welcomes the different competing teams.

Nine out of the eleven SUCs in the region contended in the festival. The following schools won in the different categories.

Winners of the festival will represent Eastern Visayas in the National PASUC Culture and Arts Festival, which will be held at Negros Oriental University, Dumaguete City on November 29 to December 1, 2017.

PASUC is an association of public tertiary school institutions in the Philippines, which is now celebrating its 50th year with its theme, PASUC@50: At the Forefront of the Global Dynamics of Public Higher Education.
