On July 14, 2025, Visayas State University (VSU) officially turned over 18 brand-new 65-inch Interactive Flat Panel Displays to select faculties and departments during the Workshop on the Preparation of Programs for AUN-QA Assessment. This forms part of the university’s broader effort to modernize classroom instruction through digital tools.

In her message, VSU President Prose Ivy G. Yepes emphasized that these displays are “a concrete way of strengthening the link between quality standards and actual classroom delivery,” as they will be installed in classrooms to support more engaging and responsive teaching approaches.

Among the recipients of the interactive displays are the Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the departments of Biological Sciences, Pure and Applied Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Technology, Forest Science, Agronomy, Soil Science, Animal Science, Pest Management, Horticulture, Arts, Languages, and Literature, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Economics, Business Management, Secondary Education, and the Institute of Human Kinetics.

This is only the first phase of the distribution, which complements recent technology infrastructure improvements in the university.

Following the conduct of Early Procurement Activities (EPA) in November 2024, VSU began upgrading its digital systems with the early 2025 arrival of WiFi 6 units, network switches, and the rollout of an enterprise firewall by April. Network augmentation is also ongoing in the VITA campuses, with expansion plans in place for Manila and Cebu offices.
