VSU Isabel stepped onto the global academic stage as it partnered with Primakara University of Indonesia and Basic Education - Math Teachers' Society (BE-MTS) to host the 2025 BE-MTS International Multidisciplinary Research Conference from July 14–16, 2025, in Denpasar, Bali.
Bringing together delegates from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, India, and Vietnam, the event created an arena for researchers, educators, and professionals to present studies, exchange perspectives, and explore new approaches in education, science, and technology.
It was co-organized with Negros Oriental State University (NORSU), Ramananujan Academy, Central University of Technology, Akshara Foundation, Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, Saigon University, St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD), Cebu Normal University (CNU), and Universiti Utara Malaysia.
The conference ran in a hybrid format, with participants attending onsite at Primakara University and online via Zoom.
Plenary speakers tackled themes ranging from culturally responsive teaching and developing human skills for societal impact, to teacher training for mathematically gifted learners, integrating ChatGPT into active learning, and digital storytelling for conceptual understanding.
VSU Isabel’s Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rodulfo T. Aunzo, Jr. presented the “Development and Validation of Self-Paced Math Smart App for Elementary Students in Isabel, Leyte,” and showcased the growing contribution of the campus to technology-enhanced education.
Parallel sessions grouped presentations into four research categories, where VSU Isabel faculty and students engaged with peers from across Asia and Africa. These sessions opened doors for academic linkages, mentorship opportunities, and cross-border initiatives that could directly enrich VSU’s programs and outreach efforts.
For VSU, the conference strengthened its place in the international research community and proved that its work is relevant not only locally but also in conversations shaping education and innovation worldwide.
