Data from previous licensure examination results show how demanding this licensure examination can be. In the October 2024 VLE, for instance, only 633 out of 1,349 examinees passed, reflecting a national passing rate of just 46.92%. In many past cycles, only a few veterinary schools in the country managed to qualify for the list of top performing institutions.
Despite this challenging landscape, VSU-FVM has built a strong record over the years. The faculty has produced at least 13 topnotchers and has consistently stood out among veterinary medicine schools in the Visayas, both in academic performance and in its steady involvement in research and service-oriented programs.
VSU-FVM Dean Dr. Harvie P. Portugaliza said that the result of the recent licensure is a milestone for the Faculty, and is just the beginning of many more successes to come.
“The remarkable outcomes reflect the hard work, positive attitude, and determination these students have demonstrated throughout their six-year journey, strongly supported by the commitment of the FVM faculty, who have devoted their time and expertise to developing a robust curriculum, innovative learning strategies, and rigorous veterinary training that meet the highest professional standards,” he added.
This year’s results show how the training and preparation of VSU’s veterinary medicine students continue to produce graduates who rise to the demands of the profession.
