A total of 59 #ProudViscans from Visayas State University Tolosa (VSU Tolosa) are now licensed criminologists after passing the August 2025 Licensure Examination for Criminologists.
The examination was held last August 1-3, 2025 in 29 testing centers all over the Philippines. The official roll of examinees was released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on September 12, 2025–twenty-six (26) working days from the last day of examination.
Out of 103 examinees, the campus posted a 57.28% overall passing rate, higher than the 51.45% national passing rate recorded nationwide.
First-time takers played a major role in this outcome, with 48 passer, giving VSU Tolosa a 73.85% first-time passing rate.
With this performance, the campus was named the 2nd Top Performing School in Region VIII under Category B (50–100 first-time takers) in the August board exam.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 13,074 out of 25,410 examinees nationwide successfully earned their criminologist license in the August examinations administered across 29 testing centers. Among them, Stephanie Sajor of Araullo University secured the highest place with a 92.40% rating.
Earlier this year, VSU Tolosa posted a stronger showing in the February 2025 Criminologists Licensure Examination, where it ranked under Category A for schools with 100 or more first-time examinees. The campus recorded an 85.60% first-time passing rate, with 115 out of 125 takers making it through, well above the 60.51% national passing rate.
While the latest results reflect a smaller group of takers and a lower percentage, VSU Tolosa still maintained its record of surpassing the national average and remained within the region’s top-performing criminology schools.
