Twenty-four (24) graduates from Visayas State University Tolosa passed the October 2025 Fisheries Professionals Licensure Examination, according to the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
VSU Tolosa recorded an overall institutional passing rate of 72.72%, higher than the national passing rate of 69.61%.
PRC announced that 1,507 out of 2,165 examinees passed the exam given by the Board of Fisheries in 16 testing centers across the country.
Jonalyn Dalanon of Cebu Technological University–Carmen topped this year’s exam, while the University of the Philippines-Visayas in Iloilo City emerged as the top performing school with a 100% passing rate.
VSU Tolosa Chancellor Dr. Quenstein D. Lauzon congratulated the new fisheries professionals, saying this year marks VSU Tolosa’s highest number of passers in Eastern Visayas.
“I extend my congratulations to the newly licensed fisheries professionals of VSU Tolosa. This year, we have produced 24 new licensed fisheries professionals, highest in terms of the number of passers in Eastern Visayas. This performance of VSUT is a proof of the commitment of the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (FFAS) to quality fisheries education. I am hoping that we continue serving our stakeholders with excellence so we can produce more successful examinees in the future,” Chancellor Lauzon said.
