About the Program

“The program for philosophy stems from the tradition of human search for the true, the good, beautiful and the just grounded on the various ancient and contemporary traditions: the rational, intuitive, analytic, humanistic, scientific, technological, biological, intellection of both East and West.” (CMO No. 26 series of 2017).

The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy program (AB Philosophy) is the second four-year arts program of the department and the university. This is one of the university’s responses to amplify its reach to the needs of its immediate society and in nation-building. Focused on the human search for the true, the good, and the beautiful, the program is intended to also offer environmental philosophy courses as electives to ground philosophizing to the mandate of the university and the 21st century existential crises brought by climate change. DLABS envisioned a program that would encourage students to be free thinkers and be aware of the nexus between theory and praxis, hence the fruition of AB Philosophy.
