The Visayas State University through the Philippine Root Crops Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops) continues to pursue inclusive development by facilitating extension projects that provide opportunity to conflict-affected areas.

In a time when we were asked to lock ourselves in our respective homes, we relied so much on social media to seek information about the pandemic, including for entertainment mainly to reduce our stress and anxiety brought by COVID-19.

For the first time, VSU breaks into the magic 10 circle of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities placing 8th among the 366 public and private institutions in the country that were rated in the July 2022 edition of this international ranking system.

For the development of a working prototype of the Portable Vacuum Fryer, VSU Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Daniel Leslie S. Tan together with two other researchers from the Philippine Rootcrops Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops) bagged the 2nd highest award for the nationwide Search of the Most Outstanding Utility Model.

#VSUGrad2022 may already be over but we at the University Integrated Media Center (UIMC) are still in awe for a successful run of this seven-part celebration that included not just the flagship campus in Baybay City but also our component campuses in Alangalang, Isabel, Tolosa and Villaba.
