Visayas State University (VSU) President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes joined national and academic leaders as one of the panelists during Inno.Venta 2025, the country’s first national science, technology, and innovation (STI) exposition organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Blood transfusion and organ transplantation save countless lives every day, but both rely heavily on a proper match of blood groups. 

The familiar blood types A, B, AB, and O classifications come from tiny sugar molecules, called glycans, that sit on the surface of red blood cells. These glycans are like identification tags. If the body detects a tag it does not recognize, it can trigger a strong immune reaction, sometimes leading to rejection of transfused blood or even transplanted organs.

Nearly 400 Sanguniang Kabataan (SK) officials from Baybay City strengthened their leadership perspective during a two-day training on value-based leadership facilitated by the Visayas State University-Guidance and Counseling Office (VSU-GCO) on August 24-25, 2025 at the Binaybayon Convention Center, Brgy.
