Visayas State University (VSU) has been recognized by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) as one of the top state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the country for advancing gender equality through its 2024 Gender and Development (GAD) Budget.

Team CS Code from the Department of Computer Science and Technology (DCST) of Visayas State University-Main Campus earned second place at the Byte Forward Hackathon-Visayas Leg, a regional tech competition that brought together the brightest student coders across the islands.

VSU has further strengthened its international collaborations by formalizing its partnership with the Korea Campus Crusade for Christ (KCCC), an organization dedicated to cross-cultural leadership and discipleship development.

Most people would opt to stay when we have made it to one of the most prestigious universities in the world. But for #ProudViscan Dr. Ea Kristine Clarisse Tulin-Escueta, a biotechnology faculty at Visayas State University (VSU), made a clear decision to return to Leyte and serve the country through science.

VSU remains the only higher education institution in Eastern Visayas to receive consistent endorsement from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) for its Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget to promote gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusivity within the university.
