All new students are required to pass the VSU College Admission Test (CAT) to be eligible for enrollment. Each degree program follows a quota in terms of admitted students. The university reserves the right to accept or reject any applicant whose qualifications do not meet the requirements of the program s/he intends to pursue. If a new student is deemed qualified in the degree program s/he intends to pursue, s/he can begin enrolling following the schedule provided by the Registrar’s Office.

If all requirements are ready including basic medical tests, a new student can finish enrollment in less than a day.

Continuing students, on the other hand, will follow a different registration schedule as approved in the Academic Calendar. If they don’t have academic and monetary deficiencies, they can proceed with online enrollment without the need to be personally present in VSU. Other continuing students with academic and monetary deficiencies will have to go through manual enrollment, which can also be accomplished in less than a day.

For the specific enrollment procedure for the upcoming semester, check the Announcements section of the website.

Note: The selection of qualified test-takers will be based on the score in the VSUCAT (70%) and the GPA (30%). (VSU Board of Regents Resolution No. 20, s. 2019).

Successful qualifiers will be admitted to the campus and program of choice for the academic year. Online reservation for slots is only available for test-takers at Main Campus. Other testing centers will follow the first-come, first-serve scheme.

Enrollment schedule per year level will follow the schedule according to the Academic Calendar as set by the Registrar’s Office, and approved by the Academic Council and Board of Regents. Online registration will be available for each year level from the date of their registration schedule and onwards.

VSU is covered by Republic Act No. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act. All VSU students are entitled to free tuition and other miscellaneous fees. However, dorm fees, OJT and student teaching fees are not covered by this law.

Students cannot avail of the free tuition and fees if:

1. The student already has a bachelor’s degree or a comparable undergraduate degree from any public or private HEI.
2. The student failed to comply with the VSU admission or retention policies, leading to the disqualification to enroll.
3. The student failed to complete his/her degree within a year after the period prescribed for his/her program.
4. The student voluntarily opted out of the free higher education provision.
