[This is the full transcript of the keynote message delivered by Atty. Alain Charles J. Veloso, Private Sector Representative of the VSU Board of Regents for the 2nd Cluster of the 71st Commencement Exercises of the Visayas State University-Main Campus.]

The Visayas State University has once again proven its caliber in promoting open access to knowledge by securing its position as one of the top 10 best-performing higher education institutions in the Philippines according to the latest edition of the Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities published in July 2024.

VSU officially started the new academic year on August 12, 2024, in all its five campuses. The university welcomed 2,399 first-year students enrolled in the first semester of 2024-2025 in the Main Campus.

With the generous offer of the DCV Industrial Controls Enterprise, a marketing company that supplies agricultural equipment, their team visited VSU to share their expertise and technologies in a demonstration of the latest agricultural machinery with our 120 agriculture students.

In a significant move towards strengthening inter-university collaboration and enhancing agricultural education and research, the Visayas State University signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with three state universities and colleges, namely Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT), Sorsogon State University (SorSU), and Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT).
