Construction of a PHP 7.6 million Forest Products Innovation and Training Center (FPITC) is underway at the Department of Forest Science (DFS) Nursery Compound of VSU to boost local forest products-based industries and communities in the Visayas region.

VSU-Tolosa further expands its global network through a ceremonial exchange of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on February 24, 2025 to enhance research, extension, and innovation initiatives and drive growth in the regional fisheries industry.

To strategically increase the volume of patent applications and publications and protect the intellectual property (IP) of VSU, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation (OVPREI), through the Innovation Office and Innovation & Technology Support Office (ITSO/IP), organized an awareness seminar on intellectual property and patent search training for its employees.
