About the Program

The BS Forestry program promotes the scientific conversion and management of forests for judicious and sustainable use of forest products and services. The program covers four (4) fields of study namely: Forest Biological Sciences, Forest Resources Management, Social Forestry and Forest Governance; and Forest Products Utilization.

Program Goals
The graduates of BS Forestry program should be able to practice the profession with the competence and integrity in promoting sustainable management of forest resources and ecosystem services; and the conservation of soil, water and biodiversity.

 

Program highlights

  • It is a 4-year curriculum with 178 academic units, 6-unit field practice or Thesis
  • BSF curriculum is compliant with; CHED Memorandum Order 44 s. 2006 Aligned with the VSU mission, vision and goals
  • The curriculum is compliant with the TPAE (Technical Panel for Agriculture Education) standards for the graduates to qualify in taking the Forester’s Licensure Board Examination.
  • Completion of 155 unit courses excluding PE and NSTP
  • OJT and Thesis are required
  • Strong faculty; Trained in prestigious universities in the country and abroad. Some are recipients of prestigious awards and are Board exam topnotchers.
