Dr. Ulderico B. Alviola, an Assistant Professor IV of the Department of Development Communication (DDC), has been re-elected to senior leadership positions in two national communication organizations.

Dr. Daniel Leslie S. Tan, the former Vice President for Administration and Finance, has been appointed by the Board of Regents (BOR) as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) President of the Visayas State University (VSU) system effective October 29, 2023, until the early months of 2024.

Despite not having a topnotcher for the October 2023 Geodetic Engineering Licensure Examination (GELE), VSU reclaimed the 2nd spot of the top-performing colleges and universities offering the GE degree program across the country.

After three months of monitoring, caring, and treatment, VSU released the critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), locally known as pawikan back to the sea following its recovery from four stab wounds on its head when it was rescued.

After returning to the place where it all started, the 37th edition of the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA-8) Games held October 22-27 has finally concluded, with the Visayas State University (VSU) Pythons reclaiming the coveted overall championship title in the region’s biggest collegiate sporting event in front of its home crowd.
