Visayas State University Tolosa produced 29 new #ProudTolosaViscan fisheries professionals who successfully passed the October 2026 Fisheries Professional Licensure Examination (FPLE), based on the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The campus recorded an overall institutional performance of 76.32%, surpassing the national passing percentage of 69.02%.
Leading the latest results is VSU Tolosa’s outstanding 96.15% passing rate among first-time takers, reflecting the strong performance of its new batch of fisheries graduates.
Last year, twenty four (24) graduates from the campus successfully passed the fisheries board with an overall institutional passing rate of 72.72%, higher than the national passing rate of 69.61%.
These results reflect the continued efforts of VSU Tolosa to provide quality education and prepare Tolosa Viscans in their respective careers.
In 2025, VSU Tolosa earned recognition from SANTEH Feeds Corporation for its Bachelor of Science in Fisheries program. The recognition highlights the contributions of the Tolosa component campus to the aquaculture industry and its efforts in continuously producing graduates who are ready to take on roles in fish farming, feed technology, and related fields.
For VSU Tolosa Chancellor, Dr. Quenstein D. Lauzon, this year’s results affirm the hard work of its graduates and the support of its faculty members in helping them achieve this milestone.
“These results clearly demonstrate that our campus does not merely participate in national assessments. We significantly exceed national standards. Beyond the statistics, however, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. I am deeply aware of the relentless hard work, sleepless nights, and immense sacrifices our students dedicated to this journey… Today is, indeed, an exceptionally beautiful day to be a Viscan,” Dr. Lauzon proudly stated.
Dr. Lauzon also shared a message for the new passers for giving pride to the University.
“The entire VSU Tolosa community stands exceptionally tall and proud of your remarkable achievement. Passing the licensure examination is a rigorous feat in itself, but you have truly distinguished yourselves by significantly exceeding the 69.02% national average… Once again, you have demonstrated the true caliber and resilient spirit of a Viscan”, the Chancellor said.
