Grad students at VSU can avail of CHED scholarships

Graduate studies at VSU have just got financially easier.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) had sanctioned VSU as one of the first batch of delivering higher education institutions (DHEIs) of scholarships for graduate studies under the K to 12 Transition Program of CHED.
Full-time students taking any of the approved doctorate (PhD), master of science (MS), and master of agricultural development (MAgDev) programs at VSU in S.Y. 2016-2017 can now avail of scholarship grants from CHED.
Faculty and staff who wish to pursue graduate studies can also avail of CHED scholarships.
“As part of the [K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education Program, CHED] will offer scholarships for faculty and staff from higher education institutions to earn graduate degrees during the [K to 12] Transition Period,” said CHED memorandum, January 12.
Some 32 graduate programs had been approved by CHED to qualify for scholarships including the following:
- PhD in Plant Pathology
- PhD in Horticulture
- PhD in Entomology
- PhD in Animal Science
- PhD in Agricultural Education
- MS in Soil Science
- MS in Plant Protection
- MS in Plant Pathology
- MS in Horticulture
- MS in Forestry
- MS in Food Science and Technology
- MS in Entomology
- MS in Development Communication
- MS in Animal Science
- MS in Agronomy
- MS in Agricultural Extension
- MS in Agricultural Engineering
- MS in Agricultural Education
- MS in Agricultural Economics
- MS in Language Teaching
- MS in Weed Science
- Master of Agribusiness Management
- MAgDev Plant Protection
- MAgDev Development Communication
- MAgDev Agronomy
- MAgDev Agricultural Extension
- MAgDev Agricultural Education
- MAgDev Agricultural Economics

VSU is one of two universities in Region VIII, besides Leyte Normal University, that were approved by CHED as DHEIs.
