Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine (VetMed), Dr. Harvie P. Portugaliza, presented a paper on the causes of the African Swine Fever outbreak in Leyte at the 17th International Symposium of Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics (ISVEE) in Sydney, Australia.

The VSU academic community welcomes its new Vice Presidents to work under the administration of University President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes to propel VSU further and farther for all its mandated areas in instruction, research, and community engagement. 

For 2025, President Yepes retains four of her previously designated Vice Presidents, with one reassigned to a new office, and adding a new member to the VSU Management Committee. 

The Cooperative Development Authority partnered with VSU through the Department of Economics to conduct trainers’ training on the cooperatives’ fundamentals, governance, and management.

The Visayas State University has solidified its reputation as one of the leading institutions for sustainability by ranking 36th in the Philippines and 898th globally in the 15th edition of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. 

It’s a back-to-back victory for VSU as three recently graduated #ProudViscans from the College of Nursing are hailed as topnotchers in the November 2024 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE) with a 100% institutional passing rate this time.

Before ending the academic year, VSU is proud to welcome another topnotcher in the December 2024 Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers Licensure Examination.
