British-Council-backs-VSU-IHK-faculty-participation-at-the-Association-of-British-Orchestra-ABO-Conference-2026

Visayas State University-Institute of Human Kinetics (VSU-IHK) faculty member, Assoc. Prof. Joselle R. Cayetano, participated in the Association of British Orchestras (ABO) Annual Conference at the Southbank Centre in London, United Kingdom last February 4-6, 2026 with backing from the British Council, through its British Council International Delegate Development Programme 2025/26.

Jerry D. Imbong, a faculty member of the Visayas State University-Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences (VSU-DPSS), won Best Book in Philosophy at the 43rd Annual National Book Awards for his title, Towards a Mindanawon/Lumad Philosophy: The Filipino Philosophy of Bro. Karl Gaspar, CSsR, under the Davao-based Aletheia Printing and Publishing House, according to an official announcement by the National Book Development Board (NBDB) and the Filipino Critics Circle last February 14, 2026.

Visayas State University (VSU) reclaimed its spot as the Top 10 university in the Philippines in the latest update of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, as of January 2026.This current ranking is a significant rebound for the university after placing 13th in the previous January 2026 edition.

Students from the Visayas State University-Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (VSU-FVM) secured top spots in both the academic quiz bee and creative video competition during the 22nd National Congress of Veterinary Medicine Students (NCVMS), held from February 2 to 7, 2026 at Al Amir Farm and Resort in San Jose, Tarlac.
