As part of its commitment to promote organizational efficiency and institutional integrity, Visayas State University (VSU) recently conducted an extensive re-orientation seminar-workshop on the guidelines and procedures of the offices under Administrative Services (AS) on June 4, 2026 at the RDE Hall. 

Annals of Tropical Research (ATR), the international scientific journal of Visayas State University and the first Scopus-indexed journal in the region, has officially entered the SCImago Journal Rankings (SJR) system with a  fourth quartile (Q4) ranking in Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, and Social Sciences. 

For generations of VSU students, completing a thesis or dissertation often meant preparing several hardbound copies before graduation. Aside from the academic work itself, students had to spend thousands of pesos on printing and binding, often at a time when they were already managing graduation expenses, job applications, board examination preparations, and other end-of-program requirements.

In a shared effort towards reducing poverty and improving economic empowerment, Visayas State University (VSU) together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office VIII (DSWD-FO VIII) formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on April 28, 2026 at the VSU RDE Hall.

For many faculty members, leadership is about representing colleagues and helping address their concerns, but for Dr. Daisy P. Acoritay, the newly elected Faculty Regent of Visayas State University (VSU), this opportunity is about service and responsibility.
