The Visayas State University (VSU) Department of Geodetic Engineering continues its upward trajectory on the national stage as its Geodetic Engineering students garnered top awards during the National Geodetic Engineering Summit (NatGES) 2026 on April 10–11, 2026 at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

Visayas State University, long known as a "dark green school" for its lush campus and commitment to energy conservation, achieved a five-star equivalent or 100% compliance rating, the highest possible recognition under the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP), in a recent audit conducted by the Department of Energy (DOE) on the VSU main campus last April 8, 2026.

The Visayas State University (VSU) affirms its commitment to student success beyond graduation as it received the “Academic Workforce Integration Award” from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region VIII.

To streamline data management and to promote smarter and more optimized processes within the university, Visayas State University (VSU) Isabel held a four-day training on Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and CumulusOne last March 23 to 26. 

Visayas State University (VSU) President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes served as one of the panelists during the 39th Annual National Conference and General Assembly of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) at the Century Park Hotel, Manila on March 24–26, 2026.

Visayas State University climbed to 25th  spot among the higher education institutions (HEIs) in the  Philippines in the 2026 edition of UniRank, a notch higher than the 26th spot reached in the 2025 edition.
