Just right after the #VSU101 Founding Anniversary celebration, VSU has even more reason to celebrate.

The Department of Science and Technology–Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Technical Working Group has endorsed Visayas State University’s Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agronomy program for inclusion in its graduate scholarship offerings.

The series of Commencement Exercises across the VSU system will take place during the second and third week of July 2025.

For two weeks, Dr. Michal Struk traded the halls of Masarayk University in the Czech Republic for classrooms, barangay halls, and event open-air discussion in Baybay City, Leyte. 

The VSU administration through the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (OVPSAS) led by Dr. Aleli A. Villocino establishes a solid waste management agreement with the University Inter-Dormitory Student Body (UISB) on April 1, 2025. 

Marking its debut on the international stage, the VSU Debate Society carved its name into history as two teams earned both the 1st runner-up and semi-finalist position in the 2nd Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) Student English Debate Competition (SEDC) held at the Rizal Technological University on April 8-9, 2025.

As the country faces increasing environmental pressures from climate change, deforestation, and natural disasters, VSU forged a partnership with the Society of Filipino Foresters Inc. (SFFI) – Eastern Visayas to strengthen the capacity of foresters and reinforcing forestry education in Eastern Visayas through the newly initiated project CAPABUILD.
