To address the looming water crisis in the country, the Visayas State University (VSU) is proud to trailblaze the first and most comprehensive water education program among colleges and universities all over the Philippines with the approval of a two-year-long research project that will train faculty members and local researchers on water education.

The Visayas State University is committed to launching more agricultural business startups in Eastern Visayas in the next two years with the continuation of the National Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation (ATBI) Program Phase 2.

The Visayas State University will soon receive a grant from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to implement a project that will equip VSU towards becoming a smart-university.

The Visayas State University together with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) will soon be developing the five-year national roadmap that will set future policy directions for higher education in agriculture in the Philippines.

To prepare the university for future crises and emergencies that may happen in a post-COVID world, the Visayas State University is taking an active part in the ‘Futures Thinking’ initiative, spearheaded by Philippine Senator Pilar Juliana “Pia” S. Cayetano.
