Visayas State University Tolosa hosted the much-awaited Annual Regional Teaching Congress last February 9, 2019 at the VSU Campus Covered Court. A staggering 1,048 teacher interns and 49 professors joined the event organized by the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) Region 8 Chapter, in coordination with the VSU Department of Teacher Education.

As a gift to the VSU students, the long-awaited art and literary folio of the Amaranth, Mitot: Iridescence, was finally launched on February 19, Tuesday, at the VSU Center for Continuing Education.

Visayas State University (VSU) will subject itself to the coveted International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification next year in an aim to raise the institution’s bar in customer service and be at par with ISO certified universities.

Visayas State University’s undergraduate programs in Civil and Agricultural Engineering successfully passed the accreditation by the Philippine Technological Council - Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET).

More than 60 campus ministers, guidance facilitators, dorm advisers and assistant advisers from VSU attended this year’s two-day Retooling/Capacity Building Seminar-Workshop on “Effective Facilitating Skills and Proactive Intervention Techniques in Responding to Student-at-Risk Situations” at the VSU RDE Training Hall, Baybay City on November 26-27, 2018.

Another batch of students from Khon Kaen University, Thailand have arrived at Visayas State University for a four-month research exchange program on January 21, 2019.

As VSU’s vision shifts to a bigger scope to become “a globally competitive university of science, technology, and environmental conservation,” VSU President Edgardo E. Tulin continues to groom the university to be able to compete in the international arena by providing access to state-of-the-art buildings and facilities, globally competent workforce, accredited quality programs, and strong linkages with local, national and international partners.
