ResearchGate, the world’s largest and most popular professional network for scientists and researchers, placed Visayas State University (VSU) on 10th spot among the top research universities in the Philippines according to a ranking released in January 2020.

The VSU Board of Regents has approved a scholarship program for students who will be pursuing graduate studies at the university starting AY 2020 - 2021. 

The Visayas State University (VSU) launches the “#OplanTanum” to help mitigate the strain on the food supply chain within the immediate VSU community and its neighboring barangays, as efforts to contain the novel coronavirus continue.

The Philippine Root Crop Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops), with the Visayas Socio-Economic Research and Data Analytics Center (ViSERDAC) hosted a virtual training on May 26 and 27, 2020.

VSU alumna Dimple A. Durias has become one of the faces for the ‘Youth for Mechanization’, a social media advocacy segment by The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech). The program aims to become a platform for youth across the country to share their ideas on rice production.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, many employees of the Visayas State University (VSU), residing inside the campus, have utilized their time productively while in a “Work-from-Home” scheme. As a respite from the daily work, the residents have engaged themselves in backyard gardening.

To help cushion the blow of halting the economy because of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the local government unit of Baybay City partnered with VSU to train women on meat and poultry processing that could serve as an alternative income source.
